2 Weeks and 2 Days

......Thats how old the love of my life is. Sidney has been such a blessing. She is the calmest, sweetest baby that I have ever held. She is laying here asleep on her boppy pillow on my lap as I type this. I am afraid that the child is already spoiled. She doesn't like to be put down but I am okay with that. I am fully aware that she won't be this little for very long. It makes me sad to know that she is growing so fast. Since tomorrow is Wednesday, I will def try to get some pictures taken and post for Wordless Wednesday....that way I don't have to spend the time writing when I could be sleeping.
We are both completely in LOVE with one another. Wrapped around Daddy's finger......although we all know its the other way around.

She's Here!!!

I would like to introduce Sidney Malee Miller, born July 5th at 8:34 p.m. Weighing in at 7 lbs 6 ozs and 20 inches long!! She is the absolute love of my life. I still cannot believe that I hold this little miracle in my arms. Sidney is truly a blessing from above. This is Sid~3 days old.

And now for the details on how Sidney came into the world.....It's Sunday morning, we are up and running around trying to get ready for church. We head out to the truck and realize that we don't even have our bibles, so I run around looking for those, we find them about 10 minutes later...they were already in the truck. I know, I'm crazy. We get half way down the drive way and I realize I forgot William's Kids Camp paperwork....Brad throws the truck into reverse and we are back at the house, I jump out and say, this mess is going to put me into labor....and the very next step I took, my water breaks. Just a trickle at first, so I run to the bathroom, with my legs closed shut....try and do that folks, and as soon as I hit the toilet, the water gushes. So I manage to find a washcloth and "fix"myself to run out to the truck to tell Brad that it is baby time. You should have seen him, what a wreck? He is trying to get me into the truck, I'm telling him that I need to call the Dr. He is running around loading bags and carseats and losing his mind all at the same time. I call the Dr and she tells me to come in, the hospital would be waiting for me. We get to the hospital around 10:30. I fill out some forms and we are off to the delivery room. The nurse checked to make sure it really was my water that broke and not peepee....and then she checked me and I was dialated to 4cm. They wanted to see if I would progress on my own and I did until 5cm and then I kinda stalled out so they loaded up the pitosin (not sure about the spelling). The contractions weren't bothering me at all but the nurse insisted that I go ahead and get the epideral while I was still somewhat comfortable. The epideral went in great and I am so grateful because the labor lasted another 6 hours after that. Whew!!! Was I glad I didn't have to feel any of that mess going on. I guess around 8 p.m. I finally reached 10cm and was feeling some pressure. I pushed with the nurse for about 5 contractions, apparently the head has to crown before the Dr will come in. So Sidney finally crowned and the Dr came in and about 7-8 contractions later, my beautiful little girl was here. Thank goodness I didn't have to push anymore, I was so worn out and I only pushed for a half an hour. I did have to have an episiotomy (you know, where they slice you to your b-hole) I am so thankful for it though, I'm glad I didn't tear and Sidney's head and face are very glad for the extra room to squeeze through. I need to shout out an honorable mention here because my husband did the greatest job ever. He was there with me every step of the way, never missed a beat. He was there for every whimper and every contraction, every needle stick and every push. I am so proud of him for being able to stay by my side. For better or worse....he was there and I love him so much more for taking care of me. He never left my side, he pushed my hair our of my face, held my leg back, kissed my forehead, rubbed my neck and loved me unconditionally the whole time. I am so blessed to call him my Husband!!!

Brad cut the cord and they set her on my chest and I've been in love with her ever since. I am a brand new person because of her. I am so thankful for what God has done for me. He has shown me how beautiful life is and how much he truly loves us and wants to see us happy. I seen God in my little girl that day. Grace and Mercy, Beauty and Light. She is my miracle.

The Baby Shower

So last Thursday the women from my Sunday School class threw me a baby shower. It turned out great. The food and cake were absolutely awesome but the gifts that I received for baby Sidney were the greatest.

I am such a ding dong though.....I guess you can blame it on pregnancy brain but I forgot my camera. My good friend Abbi was kind enough to snap a few pics.....she is always handy with her camera (she never leaves home without it).

Thanks again Abbi for bringing your camera and taking pics.....You are helping me to remember my memories.....Lord knows I'm forgetful.
In other baby news.....I've been having contractions for awhile now, the doc put me on meds to settle my uterus down a bit and it seems to be working. He also changed my thyroid meds because my thyroid hormones were a bit off too. I'm just trying to fall apart here. All in all, everything is ok. Sidney is still as strong and healthy as ever. I go back in 2 weeks for another check up.
I will try and update more now that I am getting closer and closer to my due date and I will def try and get more pics on here of the growing belly. Its absolutely fascinating that I am making a human.....what a miracle.

Riding the River

Since it was such a beautiful day yesterday, we decided to load up the boat and take it to the St Mary's River for the day. We stopped in town first because our church was selling chicken dinners and we decided that was the perfect picnic food for the day. It was yummy. We had a great time relaxing and soaking up some sun. I actually got some sun on the belly. We only stayed about 2 hours, it was getting crazy out there. Lots of people who don't know how to drive boats and who have absolutely no sense. We left unharmed though and had a great day. Here are just a few pics of us and our beautiful day on the river.

It was a little too bright for Sidney so I had to lend her my shades. :)
Me and my love.

Our own personal boat driver....he did such a good job.

Easter Weekend....

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter weekend. Saturday, my closest girlfriends took me out to the Alhambra for my birthday to watch the show, "Footloose" I have always loved the movie so I knew I would enjoy the show. I wished I would have snapped some pics but I didn't. I seriously gotta get better at this bloggin/picture taking thing.

Sunday we were up and at em' early. We had to be at church for Sunrise Service at 8:30 and because I also wanted breaskfast which was served shortly after. It was yummy.....the sausage was a bit disturbing but tasted great as long as you didn't really look at it...a whole lot. After breaskfast the kiddo's had a quick Egg hunt and William I think had just about every egg in his basket. We then went to Sunday School and off to church. After church we headed home because we were hosting Easter at our house. I made all kinds of side dishes and my mother in law baked the ham. Everything turned out wonderful. We hid more eggs and everyone took turn finding them. It was also my birthday that day and my mother in law got me some great gifts for me to take to the hospital when the baby gets here. I can always count on her to think of things I might need in the future. Now of course I didn't take any pics of the people that were here....I know, I know, I'm a dum-dum but I did manage to snap a few after everyone left.

It was a great Easter, we couldn't have asked for a better day to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ with our family and friends. I hope next year brings just as many great and wonderful memories. Have a great week.

Rain, Rain....you're a pain in my butt!!

In my last post I said I would have pics of our Sunday School Party...well it was cancelled. Our driveway was under water and so was our back yard. Now if it was a swimming party or a mud wrestling party, we could have accomodated everyone.
So these past few days, when it wasn't raining, was spent outside, digging ditches, trying to save the garden, purging water out of the flower beds and trying to keep the house clean from messy, muddy husband, child and dog. Its been a rough week. Hopefully the rain will ease up becasue everything is still so soggy. I appreciate the rain but last week was way too much.
Thankfully, our house is built up enough that no rain came near the house.
This is the front yard, I planted all my wildflowers on the left side...I'm not sure there gonna make it.

Our driveway.....you seriously need 4 wheel drive to go down it. Its not as fun as you would think.

This is a picture of the backyard and garden, luckily it was built up higher too or my veggies would be ruined....although, my cabbage isn't looking to happy these days.

But the rain does make for pretty flowers.......something good has to come out of all this.

Well I hope you enjoyed my pics and the hardwork that has gone into keeping our heads above water. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.
